Woods Hardwick Architects and Engineers were instructed to complete the planning application of 500 dwellings and all associated infrastructure including roads, utilities, drainage, footpaths and cycleways. The site is developed through planning in a two phased approach, with 304 dwellings part of Phase 1 and 196 dwellings as part of Phase 2 to the north.
Woods Hardwick architects aimed towards the delivery of a sustainable and sympathetic development that provides generous, high quality family homes to achieve a sustainable expansion of the village that is tailored to the particular circumstances of Sharnbrook. Materials such as reconstituted stone and high quality brick facing are proposed, reflecting the village and the heritage listed building element within the site ownership.
Woods Hardwick Engineering were appointed to provide the full engineering works for all consortium and developer roads, footpaths and associated infrastructure. Alongside this, a Sustainable Drainage System has been designed to provide four flow-through attenuation basins at strategic locations throughout the development, to not only prevent flooding in extreme storm events but will also provide additional biodiversity and water treatment benefits.
