Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist - Residential

We are looking for an Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist (Residential) to join our expanding multidisciplinary practice. This role will be based in our Bedford office. 

 

Woods Hardwick is a leading multidisciplinary practice of architects, engineers, planners and surveyors. This role is for the residential team and as such a track record in residential architecture is a requirement. You will have 3 years + post graduate experience and a high level of technical expertise. The successful candidate will join a small team of technicians to work on developments of all sizes and should be competent in working independently and managing small workloads between themselves and a number of junior technicians.  The candidate should also be competent in dealing with statutory authorities with exemplary communication and time management skills. A high standard of REVIT experience is essential, specifically in housebuilder ranges.

Senior Planner - Planning - Bedford

We are looking for a talented Senior Planner to join our expanding multidisciplinary practice of planners, architects, engineers, and surveyors. This role will be based in our Bedford office.

With experience in preparing planning appraisals and applications for development projects ranging in complexity, you will be confident speaking to clients, with the ability to solve problems and assist with building long term relationships. With strong IT skills, you will be able to demonstrate great initiative, as well as having excellent time management and organisation skills.

 

You will be adept at preparing Planning Statements to justify development proposals, confident in leading on appeals and assisting as part of the project team for inquiry appeals, and working toward appearing as an expert witness. The role will also include tracking the progress of local plans, preparing representations on Local Plan consultations and attending examinations to make oral submissions.

 

With 3-5 years’ experience, and as a member of the RTPI (or working towards full membership), this is a great career move for someone looking to secure their next role in one of the UK’s leading multidisciplinary practices for the built environment. Associate / Associate Director - Infrastructure Engineer - Bedford

We are looking for a degree-qualified (ideally Chartered) Associate or Associate Director Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bedford.

You will have at least 5 years experience working in the residential housing market, with particular knowledge of on-plot private engineering.

You will have a high level of technical expertise as well as excellent communication and management skills. The work will include concept design, liaising with third parties and clients, as well as producing detailed designs to tight deadlines and budgets

Specific experience:
  • Infrastructure Design, S38, S104, S278
  • Competent in Microdrainage and PDS

Associate Transport / Flood Risk / Drainage Engineer - Bedford

We are looking for a degree-qualified (ideally Chartered) Associate or Associate Director Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bedford.

You will have at least 5 years experience, specifically in the preparation of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to support Planning Applications for both residential and non-residential development.

You will have a high level of technical expertise as well as excellent communication and management skills. You will be able to manage colleagues and deadlines with minimal input. Work will include Due Diligence Site Appraisals/Feasibility Studies through to preparation of Planning Application documentation.

You will be competent in the use of the following software programmes:

  • Junctions 9
  • LINSIG
  • Tempro 
  • Ideally experienced in MicroDrainage

Experience of Flood Modelling software is preferable but not essential.
