Associate/ Associate Director - Infrastructure Engineer - Bedford

We are looking for a degree-qualified (ideally Chartered) Associate or Associate Director Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bedford.

You will have at least 5 years experience working in the residential housing market, with particular knowledge of on-plot private engineering.

You will have a high level of technical expertise as well as excellent communication and management skills. The work will include concept design, liaising with third parties and clients, as well as producing detailed designs to tight deadlines and budgets

Specific experience:
  • Infrastructure Design, S38, S104, S278
  • Competent in Microdrainage and PDS

Associate Transport / Flood Risk / Drainage Engineer - Bedford

We are looking for a degree-qualified (ideally Chartered) Associate or Associate Director Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bedford.

You will have at least 5 years experience, specifically in the preparation of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to support Planning Applications for both residential and non-residential development.

You will have a high level of technical expertise as well as excellent communication and management skills. You will be able to manage colleagues and deadlines with minimal input. Work will include Due Diligence Site Appraisals/Feasibility Studies through to preparation of Planning Application documentation.

You will be competent in the use of the following software programmes:

  • Junctions 9
  • LINSIG
  • Tempro 
  • Ideally experienced in MicroDrainage

Experience of Flood Modelling software is preferable but not essential.

Engineering Technician - Bedford

We are looking for a talented Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team in Bedford.

You will be competent using Microstation, Microdrainage and PDS (experienced AutoCAD users will also be considered). With experience of highways and drainage in the residential housing market, you will have a high level of technical awareness, demonstrating great initiative as well as being able to work within tight deadlines.

Senior Structural Engineer - Birmingham

We are looking for an Senior Structural Engineer to join our expanding multidisciplinary practice. This role will be based in our Birmingham office.

Woods Hardwick is a leading multi-disciplinary practice of architects, engineers, planners and surveyors. Our structural engineering team was set up 2 years ago and has expanded considerably. As a result we are looking to split the workload between housing projects and commercial/special projects. To do this we are looking for someone with strong housing experience to take full control of all our housing work, and to lead and develop a dedicated structures housing team.

With a degree in civil or structural engineering and around 6-8 years experience in the design of residential structures, you will work closely with our Birmingham Civils team to provide a fully integrated engineering service. You will also liaise with the structures team in Bedford as required (occasional visits to Bedford are likely to be needed)

You will be adept at the design of residential sub and super-structures for new build housing, along with associated highways structures. Desirable skills include experience of using TEDDS calculation package and knowledge of AutoCAD.

We support all our engineers to develop their skills throughout their career, including achieving chartered status. We are a small team, and on occasions we all need to assist on projects or issues that are not part of our usual work.
