Having outgrown their existing premises on an earlier phase of the Stratton Park development, Jewers Doors approached Woods Hardwick to design a new bespoke manufacturing and storage facility with ancillary offices on newly acquired land at Stratton Business Park, Biggleswade, Beds.
The Woods Hardwick team obtained planning approval for employment development on Phase 5 & 6 of the Stratton Park development in April 2017.
After the successful delivery of the adjacent CEF development, Jewers Doors contacted Woods Hardwick to help them deliver their new manufacturing facility.
The site had lain vacant for a number of years, however due to the integrated design approach that Woods Hardwick had undertaken at the application stage, the Client reaped the benefit of that knowledge to understand the opportunities that this parcel of land could afford them.
With multiple different business requirements the challenge from a design perspective was to create a coherent operational flow through the building to maximise efficiencies without compromising the design impact of this gateway building.
The result is a spectacular new facility that fuses the Clients clear brand identity and the manufacturing process requirements seamlessly.
