Great news for long-standing Bedford employer, Richardson Milling UK (formerly Jordans Cereals) having secured planning consent to transform their site on Mile Road.

Woods Hardwick’s planners, architects and engineers have worked together to deliver a masterplan that will allow Richardson Milling UK to expand their existing milling and production facility.

Yesterday Planning Director Paul Woods alongside Centre for the New Midlands’ Chris Smith, presented at the British BIDS conference, looking at the Levelling Up agenda and what it means for UK High Streets.
The event focused on BIDs, Culture and Communities, looking at how they can work together to drive economic growth and help their communities - with the main message; the need for greater collaboration.

Bedford Borough Council has published a report on the Local Plan 2040 that is to be presented to the Council’s Executive on 27th April 2022.
The report advises Members of the issues raised in response to the Regulation 18 Draft Plan: Strategy Options and Draft policies consultation that took place between June and September 2021 and presents an overview of the Local Plan 2040 ‘Plan for Submission’ (Regulation 19 Stage), with the draft Plan appended to the report.  It sets out the proposed development strategy and the next steps for the plan.  The Executive is asked to agree, subject to any amendments, the plan for public consultation.

Coventry City Council is conducting a call for brownfield sites in order to help identify potential sites that may be able to help meet the City’s development needs (housing, employment, leisure etc).
This call for brownfield sites presents the opportunity to submit sites which may be suitable. The sites will then be assessed to establish their suitability, availability and achievability in meeting the development needs of the City.

Central Bedfordshire Council has now formally published their Local Development Scheme (LDS), which sets out a draft timetable for taking forward the formal review of their Local Plan, which was previously adopted in July 2021.
Policy SP1a of the Plan committed the Council to a review commencing within 6 months of adoption.
