Impressionist Bedford skyline by Woods Hardwick’s resident artist
Woods Hardwick’s Bedford boardroom needed an injection of colour and to capture the essence of the company on it’s walls.
After considering who and what to commission, the Directors decided that the iconic built form of Bedford’s Swan Hotel, Town Bridge, St Pauls Spire and the Courthouse would be perfect. Who better to take on the creation of an impressionist art installation of Bedford than our resident artist, Oana Niculae.
Architect, Oana, is well known by our team and clients for her drawing skills. After a few scouting trips to absorb the view, Oana has been hard at work in her own time creating this fantastic piece – and it has now been unveiled in our Head Office.
Oana explained,
“Sketching and drawing is still such a fundamental part of architecture. It’s something I have always been passionate about and despite advancing technology, remains very important to the design process. Having lived in Bedford for more than 15 years now, it was a pleasure to bring the river scene to life for all our clients to see.”
We are excited to be able to show off the art to all visitors and clients coming into our Bedford office!
