Woods Hardwick Appoint Craig Smith to Head Up Its Midlands’ Architecture Team  

Woods Hardwick have today [3 July] appointed Craig Smith to head up its architecture team in Birmingham as part of the company’s five-year growth plans.

Craig joins the architecture, engineering, planning and surveying practice, which has operated across the UK for decades, as an associate director of architecture.

This is a new role that has been created by Woods Hardwick and Craig will be focused on growing the company’s client base and architecture team across the Midlands – where the company opened its second office at Fort Dunlop eight years ago.

Craig has over 25 years’ experience in architecture having spent the last seven years at Define Planning & Design as an associate architect working on projects across the region as well as nationally.

He has a background in residential design, both private and affordable housing throughout all the RIBA Work Stages 0-7 and also has worked on healthcare and commercial projects throughout his career.

He has extensive experience in feasibility sketch layouts and planning layouts alongside the technical working drawings with a knowledge of using different modern methods of construction having previously worked for Pegasus Group, Nicol Thomas, IDP and RPS Group.

Craig has worked on several projects for major developers such as Barratt, Bellway, Cala, Dandara, Lioncourt, L&Q, St. Modwen, Taylor Wimpey, Vistry and Willmott Dixon that have defined local communities and businesses across the Midlands, East of England and South East of England.
