‘A one stop shop of experienced professionals – built on trust, honesty, friendship and crucially, results.’

ukland.com specialises in developing land for the future of the UK. With more than £1 Billion GDV of current projects, all of their current and future pipeline of developments are focused on eco-living, creating the most energy efficient and low carbon housing. The team, led by CEO and founder, Kevin Heaney, has built a strong market position over their 30 years in the industry.

Kevin has worked with Woods Hardwick for a number of years – on projects ranging from a single eco-friendly carbon zero 6,500 sq ft home, through to residential development sites of 3,000 units. With projects across the UK, Kevin and his team have been working hard during lockdown – both on existing sites and some exciting new opportunities.

He sees the people at Woods Hardwick as an extension of his own team:

“I speak to Russell (Gray), Tom (Francis), Sam (Boyd) and George (Beevor-Reid) on a regular basis – and that hasn’t changed during the pandemic. We really benefit from Woods Hardwick’s ‘one stop shop’ approach – and with experts in all areas of development, it makes for an efficient and effective process.’

At Arlesey Road in Stotfold, engineering was a key priority. Kevin explained, “We had to overcome a number of landscape, ecology, surface water flooding and noise issues raised during the application. Together we addressed multiple site constraint issues, helping to achieve the aspirations for this site for both ukland.com and Linden Homes – 161 new homes (35% affordable homes) and much needed play areas for the community.”

Across architecture, planning, engineering and surveying, ukland.com and Woods Hardwick are working together on many projects (with a number of planning applications submitted that are currently awaiting results!). Despite the current climate, 2020 is still set to be an exciting year. Kevin anticipates five new development sites coming forward in the next few months alone.

He explains:

“I see the next 5-10 years as a period of big growth in our industry, with housing and infrastructure desperately needed. Our principle ethos is to develop carbon neutral projects, championing open space and low density living. It’s a philosophy that resonates with the local authorities and landowners we work with. The pandemic has certainly been a difficult time for everyone, but here at ukland.com, we are very busy focusing on what happens next and how we support planned growth in the UK.”

“The relationship between ukland.com and Woods Hardwick is based on trust and honesty. If they think my ambitions for a site aren’t feasible they will tell me. It’s about being able to have those difficult conversations as much as it is having the easy ones!”

And sometimes those difficult conversations aren’t even work related. “As a Spurs fan there is always the football banter. But with Tom supporting Aston Villa and Russell, West Ham, I am usually the one dishing it out!”

And here at Woods Hardwick, we echo Kevin’s sentiment – football aside of course!
