Richardson Milling UK set to transform their Bedford base!
Great news for long-standing Bedford employer, Richardson Milling UK (formerly Jordans Cereals) having secured planning consent to transform their site on Mile Road.
Woods Hardwick’s planners, architects and engineers have worked together to deliver a masterplan that will allow Richardson Milling UK to expand their existing milling and production facility.
The current site has limited opportunity to expand existing buildings, with the new masterplan helping to improve vehicle movements in and out of the site, reducing existing HGV traffic using the Mile Road entrance and making better use of a new HGV entrance off Windsor Road.
The new masterplan is set to transform and enhance the street scene along Mile Road and Windsor Road, improving the surroundings for local residents and enhance what is a main route into Bedford town centre.
By expanding the facility and increasing capacity by upwards of 35%, this investment will improve all operational aspects of the plant, from intake and warehousing capabilities to logistics and distribution. A full overhaul of the site footprint will result in greater operational efficiencies, modernisation, and enhanced storage capacity.
