Reserved matters approval for first phase of Cambourne West, Cambridge

Our client Vistry Group has secured reserved matters planning approval to start on the first phase, comprising 200 new homes, at Cambourne West near Cambridge.

Working with masterplanner, Randall Thorp, our residential architecture team has delivered the masterplan vision for the first phase of the scheme and been awarded for planning approval. With 139 private and 61 affordable homes in phase one, we worked closely with South Cambridgeshire District Council to negotiate a great scheme – it was a positive experience for both sides!

Vistry’s £240 million development of Cambourne West will total 783 homes. We have been working on phase two and submitted this for planning earlier this month.

Vistry and housing association Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing have joined forces to build the properties for phase one, ranging from one-bed apartments to five-bed houses. As part of its section 106 financial contributions, Vistry will spend more than £15 million on community facilities and improvements, including towards two new primary schools, a community centre, sports pitches and allotments.

Vistry’s development is part of the wider 2,350 Cambourne West development, a joint venture between Vistry and Taylor Wimpey.
